Roma, Pat, andall 61-ers
I love checking the site for the news from/about the Class of 61. We did have a wonderfully invested class...one that taught us to make good choices and progress through life with positive reactions to the joys and the challenges we have experienced.
Do you all remember our first assembly? There we were in the back of the auditorium excited, a little unncomfortable and nervous, knowing we now were a part of something important. How honored we felt when the seniors asked us to stand up while they presented a welcoming message. We stood, and heard the entire class of seniors saying in unisom: "potato chips, potato chips, crunsh, crunch, crunch. Sophomores, sophomores, here's your lunch." And then they waved to us with an appendage we all recognized. My bottom had to be the first one that plopped back down in my chair! It was embarrassing, Yet, it established where we belonged at the time; and it affirmed that one day we would be in the senior section, ready to take on the challenges and choices life would offer us. We do miss those who have died, but will always remember them as part of "the us."
We have lived in Maryland, Tennessee, Nevada, Italy--Sicily and Sardenia--Florida, and here we are back in Idaho. Dick and I will celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversay soon. We raised two daughters who gave us three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. I've fought a few battles with cancer, and Dick has had a couple heart attacks, but overall, we are healthy, happy, and love life. To all you 61-ers, thank you for the friendships, support, and fun!
