POCATELLO — Floyd "Hoolie" Hallinan, 59, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at a local health care facility. He was born March 25, 1943, in Bancroft, Idaho, to Leland A. and Ann (Gilbert) Hallinan, the oldest of two children. He was raised in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1961. He then attended Idaho State University and later trained to be an electrician through the IBEW Local No. 449 apprenticeship program. 

He married Kaye Jensen on November 22, 1963, in Pocatello at the LDS Church on Jefferson Avenue. 

He was a journeyman electrician for 38 years, working on many, many construction jobs. For the past 17 years he worked at Warbonnet Electric. He was active in IBEW No. 449 and various rodeo associations. 

He was a member of the 44th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed horses, guns, hunting, fishing, roping, rodeos and the outdoors.

Floyd was well respected by everyone who knew him; he was a great mentor to many. He was a giving, selfless person.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye Hallinan of Pocatello; son, Brett D. (Janice) Hallinan of Pocatello; daughters, Holly A. (Rick) Hall of Hazelton, Heather (Danny) Harris of Pocatello; seven grandchildren, Josh, Kassandra, Katelyn, Tanner, Chance, Garrett, and Kylie; and his brother, Neal Pat (Suzanne) Hallinan of Pocatello. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Ann Hallinan. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2002, at the 44th Ward LDS Chapel, in Fort Hall on Highway 91, with Bishop Kevin Loveland officiating. The interment will follow at the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
